I have to admit, not by design really, but more by circumstances, that I find myself starting the holidays a little earlier than normal. The reason is that my new home will only be ready in January, and I had to get out of my last home today!!!!
So now I live in a small beach town 100 kms away from the city. For the next two weeks I have to travel through to drop and fetch kids from school. Waking up on a Monday morning, and travelling the treacherous highways full of detours and road works can be daunting. But every now and then you get a little light relief!!
It inevetiably consists of a taxi a few ambitious predestrians and a police force, eager to fill up the Xmas coffers. Well today, I saw a cop try to bring a double decker bus to book as it changed about 4 lanes in two seconds. Impressive as there were only three lanes!! But that didnt stop the bus driver. Clearly he was late. So much so, he not only ignored the cop’s yelling, but he treated the man more like a pestering mozzie intent on getting in for the kill!
It’s on days like this that I realise we all need a break. I just get to have mine a little early. So if you see the guy travelling along the highway at 5am in his boardshorts, please be sure to give me a wave. And if you dont, I’ll catch one when I’m back at the beach!!!
